Senator Sonny Angara says that public school teachers deserves to double their salary.
He wants to double their pay that the reelectionist senator filed Senate Bill 135. Senate Bill 135 seeks to adjust teachers’ salary from salary grade 11 to 19.
It will be raised to 42,099 from the current teachers’ pay of 20,179 pesos.
Angara believes that teachers would no longer compelled to leave the classroom to look for another jobs to support their families once the measure would be granted.
A move like this, would improve the quality of teaching and overall education system in the country as what the senator expects.
Teachers are also public servants who deserve a reasonable compensation, emphasized Angara.
