SSS Disability Pension

Disability Benefit is a pension that will be given to a person who is not able to earn a living because of illness or injury.

Person Eligible To Get Disability Pension:

Total Disabilities
-Permanent complete paralysis of two limbs
-Complete loss of sight for both eyes
-Loss of two limbs at or above the ankle or wrists
-Brain injury resulting in incurable imbecility or insanity
-Cases as determined and approved by the SSS

Partial Disabilities
It can either be permanent and complete loss of the following body parts:
-Any of the fingers (Thumb, Index, Middle, Ring, Little)
-Hearing (One ear or both ears)
-Eyesight (One eye)
-One ear or both ears
-One big toe
-One-hand
-One arm
-One Leg
-One foot

Amount Of The Pension:
The amount of the pension you will receive depends on the contributions you have paid and the number of years.
–20 years payment, you will receive Php 2,400 monthly
–10 years payment, you will receive Php 1,200 monthly
–less than 10 years payment, you will receive Php 1,000 monthly

Types of Cash Benefits:

–Monthly Pension, members who paid for at least 36 monthly contributions before the semester of disability will be eligible.
–Lump-Sum Pension, members who paid less than 36 monthly contributions before the semester of disability is payable for less than a year.

Disability Pension Application Requirements:
-Accomplished Disability Claim Application Form
-Accomplished SSS Medical Certificate Form
– Member’s/Claimant’s Photo and Signature Card
-Any Valid IDs
-Supporting Medical Documents (Laboratory results, X-ray, Hospital records or discharge summary, etc)
-Photocopy of savings account ATM card or passbook

The procedure of Application:

1. Firstly, a medical specialist will check your requirements
2. A doctor will conduct a physical examination
3. Details of SSS Disability Benefits will be discussed
4. A sketch of hospital confinement needs to be provided. The process will usually take 1-2 months
5. Afterward, you will receive a notice on when can you withdraw the pension and the amount

-Supplemental Allowance Php500 monthly
– Additional benefit PHP 1,150
-13th Month Pay
– PhilHealth hospitalization benefits
