How To Apply For A Calamity Loan

After suffering from a flood. earthquake or any natural disaster, we don’t have a choice but to move on and keep on going every day. A natural disaster isn’t controllable that’s why then the only thing we can do is forget and keep on fighting. Good thing because government agencies such as SSS and Pag-IBIG make a way to help Filipino people who are suffering from a natural disaster via Calamity Loan. In this way, they are giving new hope to everyone and giving them the strength to fight.

In this article, we will provide you the guide on how to apply for a calamity loan.

Pag-IBIG Calamity Loan

Loan Details:

-An eligible member can loan up to 80% of their total accumulated value
-A member can pay the loan within 24 months with an additional grace period of three months
-The interest rate is 5.95% per annum

Who can apply:

– Lives in an area declared under the State of Calamity
-If you paid at least 24 monthly Pag-IBIG contributions
-Paid at least 5 monthly contributions in the last six months before the loan application date

Requirements needed when applying:

-Accomplished Declaration of Being Affected by Calamity
-Accomplished Calamity Loan Application Form
-Two valid IDs with a photocopy
-Proof of income, such as Payslips, certificate of employment with compensation, income tax returns, etc.

Once you already have all the requirements needed, visit the nearest Pag-IBIG office at your location and submit all your requirements.

SSS Calamity Loan

Loan Details:

-An eligible member can get one monthly salary credit (MSC) up to PHP 16,000 or the total amount of damage, whichever is lower
-A member can pay the loan within 24 months
-The interest rate is 10% per annum

Who can apply:

-If your home address or property at an area declared under the State of Calamity
-Member who paid at least 36 monthly contributions, six of which are posted within the last 12 months before the month of the loan application
-If you haven’t availed of any of the SSS benefits such as total permanent disability, retirement, or death
-If you have no current SSS Loan Restructuring Loan or Calamity Loan Assistance Program

Requirements needed when applying:

-Accomplished Calamity Loan Assistance Application Form
-Barangay Certification
-One primary ID such as UMID, driver’s license, passport, PRC card, or Seaman’s Book
-If primary ID isn’t available two secondary IDs will be needed such as PhilHealth ID, company ID, senior citizen ID, voter’s ID, TIN card, etc.


Once you already have all the requirements needed, visit the nearest SSS office at your location and submit all your requirements.
