What is a Salary Loan?
It is a cash loan granted to an employed SSS member, currently- paying self-employed or voluntary members. It is intended to meet the member’s short-term credit needs. However, you should meet Salary Loan Eligibility to be able to get it.
Who are eligible to apply for an SSS Salary Loan?
- Employed SSS member, contributing self-employed member, voluntary member
- Must be under sixty-five (65) years old
- Must not commit any fraud against SSS
- The employer of the borrower must be updated in the payment of contributions
- The borrower must not be granted the final benefit, total permanent disability, retirement, and death
For One-Month Loan
A member must have thirty-six (36) months posted contributions, six (6) of which should be within the last twelve (12) months prior to the month of filing of the application.
For Two-Month Loan
A member must have seventy-two (72) months posted contributions, six (6) of which should be within the last twelve (12) months prior to the month of filing of the application.
How much is the Loan Amount?
One-Month Salary Loan
It is equivalent to the average of the borrower’s latest posted 12 Monthly Salary Credits (MSCs), or the amount applied for, whichever is lower.
Two-Month Salary Loan
It is equivalent to twice the average of the borrower’s latest posted 12 MSCs, rounded to the next higher monthly salary credit, or amount applied for, whichever is lower.
Repayment Term
– An interest rate of 10% per annum
-It is payable within 24 monthly installments
-Monthly amortization will start on the 2nd of the month following the date of the loan. The due date will be on or before the payment deadline
– A penalty of 1% per month for every late payment on the due date
-Remember to only pay your loan at any SSS branch with accounting facility, SSS-accredited bank or SSS-authorized payment center
