What is a Salary Subsidy from DOLE?

Salary Subsidy is a program that provides assistance to employees who are affected by the COVID-19. It includes workers of private companies that are affected by the adaptation of the Flexible Work Arrangement (FWAs) and temporary closure because of Corona Virus 2019. Every affected employee will be entitled to receive Php 5,000 Salary Subsidy.

Who can get Salary Subsidy from DOLE?

According to DOLE, eligible persons are:
– Workers who will not receive their salaries
– with reduced regular wage because of the Flexible Work Arrangement
– Workers that had temporary suspension because of the employer’s decision.

Here’s how you can get a Salary Subsidy from DOLE:

NOTE: It is the Company’s responsibility to request for a Salary Subsidy, not the employees. So if you are an employee, do not pressure yourself, your company will be the one to get in touch with DOLE.

1. Company or Employer needs to submit all their employees’ requirements to DOLE. It includes the Company payroll and the Establishment Report on the COVID-19.
   
2. Your employer will send the application to DOLE’s email.
   
3. Once the DOLE receives the application, they will check it and it usually takes 3 business days.
   
4. Once done with the evaluation, DOLE will send an email to your employer if the application has been approved or denied.

What happens if it the employer approve it or deny it:

“Approved”
If they approve it, you must be thankful since you will be able to take advantage of the DOLE’s financial assistance amounting to Php 5,000.

“Denied”
If your employer’s request has been denied this may be the reason why:
– Misrepresentation of facts in the application
– Falsified documents
