Taiwan wants to make English their secondary language by the year 2030. That is why the Ministry of Education (MOE) in Taiwan created the Taiwan Foreign English Teacher Program (TFETP). This program intended to recruit foreign English teachers and teaching personnel in their country. That is why Taiwan is hiring Filipino teachers. One of the first options they think of is to hire Filipino teachers because Filipinos are well known for their proficiency in the English language.
The Department of Labor and Employment announced that Taiwan is hiring 450 available teaching positions to foreigners. Specifically in primary and secondary public schools for the year 2022.
Those who will be hired under TFETP will receive NT$ 62,720 or Php 115,000 per month. Aside from that, they will also receive additional benefits:

Monthly Salary:
The teacher’s monthly salary will depend on the teaching experience.
- For a Bachelor’s Degree holder
- NT$ 62,720-78,045
- For of a Master’s Degree holder
- NT$ 69,965-86,820
- For a Doctoral Degree holder
- NT$ 73,025-91,420.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university
- Must have a teaching license
- No criminal record
- The official or common language of the nation (as the nationality shown on the passport) where the applicant is from must be English
