Good news! Government employees will receive a mid-year bonus. According to Section 5 of the DBM Budget Circular No. 2017-2 or the “Rules and Regulations on the Grant of the Mid-Year Bonus for FY 2017 and Years Thereafter.”, eligible personnel of government will receive a bonus this year 2022. How much is the Mid-Year Bonus?
Mid-Year Bonus will be equivalent to one-month basic pay. Eligible government personnel will receive it no earlier than May 15.
What are the Conditions to be Eligible?
- A government employee must render at least a total of four months of service from July 1 up to May 15 of the current year.
- Personnel must remain in the government service as of May 15 of the current year.
- Must have a satisfactory performance rating in the immediately preceding rating period or the applicable performance appraisal period.
NOTE:
If personnel was hired as a part-timer, the bonus amount will depend on the number of hours/days of service rendered. If personnel was transferred from one agency to another, the mid-year bonus must be paid by the new agency.
Who is Not Entitled to Receive Mid-Year Bonus?
- Those who are no longer in service as of the later date will not receive the bonus.
- Those who have been charged in administrative or criminal cases and found guilty will not receive the bonus.

- Offices under Constitutional Fiscal Autonomy Group
- Government-Owned or Controlled Corporations
- Local Government Units
- Armed Forces of the Philippines
- Philippine National Police
- Philippine Public Safety College
- Bureau of Fire Protection
- Bureau of Jail Management
- Department of Interior and Local Government
- Philippine Coast Guard
- National Mapping and Resources Information Authority of DENR
