DOST Scholarship 2023

Since the DOST scholarship program for the year 2022 is almost done. DOST open a new batch of scholarships for the year 2023. Talented senior high school students are encouraged to apply if they wish to pursue four or five-year courses in Science and Technology fields. DOST Scholarship 2023 Guidelines

Two Types of DOST Scholarship

RA 7678 Scholarship

Republic Act 7678 or Science and Technology Scholarship Act of 1994 is the type of scholarship that will be given to a student whose family belongs to a socioeconomic status that does not exceed the cut-off values of certain indicators.

Merit Scholarship

DOST-SEI Merit scholarship or NSTA Scholarship under RA 2067 is the type of scholarship that will be given to a student who has a high aptitude in Science and Mathematics and wishes to pursue a career in science and technology fields.

DOST Scholarship 2023 Benefits:

  • Monthly Living Allowance – Php 7,000
  • Book Allowance – Php 10,000
  • Clothing Allowance (1st sem) – Php 1,000
  • Thesis Allowance – Php 10,000
  • Tuition and other school fees (per year) – Php 40,000
  • Health Insurance – Premium
  • Transportation – 1 economy-class roundtrip fare
  • Graduation Clothing Allowance – Php 1,000
  • Summer Allowance (if required)
    • Tuition and other fees – Php 1,500
    • Book Allowance – Php 500 (OR must be submitted)
    • Monthly Allowance – 2 months

Who are Eligible to Apply?

  • Filipino citizen
  • Good moral character
  • Good Health
  • Talented poor students
  • Member of STEM strand
  • Top 5% of the Non-STEM strand senior high school graduating class
  • A resident of the municipality for 4 years
  • Must be a qualifier for the 2021 S&T Scholarship Examination

Requirements:

  • RA 7678 Scholarship
    • 1×1 Picture
    • Birth Certificate
    • Personal Information
    • Household Information Questionnaire
    • Certificate of Good Moral Character
    • High School STEM strand class certification
    • Certification from the Top 5% of the Non-STEM strand senior high school graduating class
    • A statement that the applicant has not taken any DOST-SEI exam or course
    • Statement of parent that there is no pending immigrant application
    • Certificate of Residency
    • Income Tax Return of parents
    • Electric Bill for 3 consecutive months
  • Merit Scholarship
    • 1×1 Picture
    • Birth Certificate
    • Personal Information
    • Certificate of Good Moral Character
    • High School STEM strand class certification
    • Certification from the Top 5% of the Non-STEM strand senior high school graduating class
    • A statement that the applicant has not taken any DOST-SEI exam or course
    • Statement of parent that there is no pending immigrant application
    • Non-Refundable test fee amounting to Php 200

Study Placement:

  • University of the Philippines
  • State University and Colleges
  • Private Institutions that are recognized by CHED specialized S&T study program

Application Deadline and Examination Date:

All interested students who want to apply may apply now up until December 02, 2022. All qualified students will take their exam on March 11-12, 2023.
