Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas approves the beta launch of GCash overseas. Gcash announced it on its Facebook page recently. Under the beta launch, only 1000 users can access the GCash app with an international sim card.
To be able to use Gcash overseas, they need to verify their account. Once it’s verified, they can send money for free (GCash to Gcash), pay bills, and buy a load with minimal fees.

GCash users can expect the full launch overseas later this year. Gcash expansion became possible because of their partnership with Alipay+. In addition, Gcash can now be used to pay selected merchants across countries like Singapore, Japan, Qatar, Malaysia, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Germany.
As per Martha Sazon, Gcash President and Ceo, “We continue to make a difference in Filipinos’ lives by making financial services easier and more accessible to our now 76 million-strong registered users. With around 10 million Filipinos living abroad, we want them to also be able to take advantage of GCash services even as they use international SIMs. As more people put their trust in GCash, we strive to remove more barriers and create a better experience for all,”.
