The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) recently announced that they will be giving slots for the 2021 DOST-SEI S&T Undergraduate Scholarships to the youths who will pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). DOST Scholarship will be given to those incoming Grade 12 students in AY 2020-2021 who wanted to pursue STEM courses.
As per DOST-SEI Director, Dr. Josette T. Biyo,
“Amid the uncertainty, we soldier on in providing scholarship opportunities for college studies. The DOST Scholarship invites talented Filipino youth to pursue STEM-related careers and take active participation in research and development (R&D) activities. We hope to have more scientists especially in this changing world”
Scholarship Benefits:
For Summer (If required in the curriculum)
-Monthly Living Allowance Php 7,000 (for two months)
-Book Allowance Php 500 (official receipt must be submitted)
-Tuition Fee and other school fees Php 1, 500
Regular Academic Year
-Tuition fee and other school fees Php 40,000 (per year)
-Book Allowance Php 10,000 (per year)
-Living Allowance Php 7,000 (per month)
-Thesis Allowance Php 10,000
-Transportation Allowance 1 economy-class roundtrip fare (for those studying outside of home province)
-Health and Accident Insurance Premium
-Graduation Clothing Allowance Php 1,000
Eligibility Requirements:
- Filipino Citizen
- Must have Good Moral
- Must have Good Health
- Grade-12 under STEM track
- A student who belongs to a socio-economic status that does not exceed the cut-off values for certain indicators
- Member of the top five percent (5%) of the Non-STEM strand or a member of the STEM strand graduating class
- No undergraduate units
- Did not taken any DOST-SEI Examination previously or have taken the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Examination but did not qualify or qualifier of the scholarship but did not avail the award
- Must qualify S&T Scholarship Examination

- Birth Certificate (Photocopy)
- Income Tax Return or Indigency Certificate from barangay
- Household Information Questionnaire
- Good Moral Character Certification
- Good Health Certification
- Principal’s Certification
- Form E-1 (those who belong to STEM strand)
Form E-2 (those who belong to upper 5% of the NON-STEM strand) - Residency Certificate
- Parent’s Certification
- Applicant’s Certification
- Signed Declaration (Applicant and Guardian)
